Stopping Sepsis in Virginia Hospitals & Nursing Homes

Sepsis is the leading cause of hospital admissions from U.S. nursing homes. More than one million Americans are diagnosed with sepsis every year; 25 to 50 percent of those patients will die as a result.

Healthcare providers and staff can play a critical role in preventing and treating sepsis. That’s why we are inviting you to join our new initiative: Stopping Sepsis in Virginia Hospitals & Nursing Homes. Health Quality Innovators (HQI), in partnership with the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA), will provide your organization with evidence-based best practices to identify sepsis early and reduce mortality rates.

For more information about this initiative, nursing home representatives can contact Deborah Smith at dsmith@hqi.solutions or 804.289.5320. Hospital representatives can contact Betsy Cole Archer at bcole@vhha.com or 804.965.1216.
